NEW YORK - December 3, 2007
Cable Positive, the cable and telecommunications industry’s AIDS action organization, began their new international matching grant initiative, the One-For-One Matching Gift Online Appeal, on November 29, 2007, with a $15,000 donation to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) initiative.
The check presentation took place at the Helen Hayes Theater in Manhattan. On hand to accept the donation were Xanadu stars Cheyenne Jackson, Kerry Butler and Tony Roberts; Broadway Cares Executive Director, Tom Viola; Cable Positive’s President & CEO, Steve Villano, Chairman of Cable Positive’s Board of Directors, Bonnie Hathaway and Board Member Pam Euler-Halling.
The grant serves as the domestic portion of Cable Positive’s program. BC/EFA will distribute the monies to HIV/AIDS organizations that target three pre-selected issues, then monitor their progress and uses of the funds. The South African Development Fund, Cable Positive’s international grant monitoring partner, is set to receive their matching check later this month.
