Cable Positive’s 2007 Broadway Benefit Set for Tuesday, September 18 Featuring The Hit Musical:“Spring Awakening”
NEW YORK - August 25, 2007
The Cable Industry’s “Diversity Week” which takes place this September in New York City will be highlighted by Cable Positive’s 2007 Broadway Benefit, on Tuesday night, September 18th at the Eugene O’Neill Theater. The benefit – which this year will feature Spring Awakening, winner of 8 Tony Awards including best musical - has always been a hit with the industry. Past benefits have included the musicals Hairspray, WICKED, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and most recently The Drowsy Chaperone.
“Many networks and system providers find the Cable Positive Broadway Benefit a terrific way to entertain clients while contributing to the fight against HIV/AIDS,” said Cable Positive President & CEO Steve Villano.
The musical, based on the infamous 1891 Frank Wedekind play of the same name is sure to be a hit. Featuring music from Grammy nominated recording star Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater the musical tells the story of two youths who experience the challenges of coming of age in 1891 Germany. Join us to find out why The New York Times is calling Spring Awakening a “truly groundbreaking musical unmatched by anything in the theater today.”
Immediately following the show, Cable Positive will host a Broadway Benefit After Party at 44 ½ Café, located at 626 Tenth Avenue, Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan.
