The AIDS Service Center NYC (ASC) dedicated a counseling room
in the name of Cable Positive New York Chapter for their continued
efforts in the fight against HIV/AIDS. The ASC has been the
beneficiary of Cable Positive New York Chapter for the past three
years. To date, over $30,000 has been raised and donated to ASC.
Sponsors of the Cable Positive New York Chapter include FOX Cable
Networks Group, HERE!, Home Box Office, Inc., OLN, Playboy TV
Networks, Rainbow Media Holdings, Showtime Networks, Inc., SoapNet,
Time Warner Cable of New York and New Jersey and YES Network.
Over a dozen volunteers were on hand at the AIDS Service Center
holiday party on December 14th at the Manhattan Pavillion. Pictured
here are a sampling of helpers who handled food service and painted
children's faces. The festive party, including a DJ, special
visit from Santa and dinner with all the trimmings, benefited
families affected by HIV/AIDS. Over 500 adults and children in
attendance.
Thank you to the volunteers who helped make the dinner a very
special evening for these families. We also want to thank everyone
who donated a gift. Your generosity enabled the AIDS Service
Center to provide all the children and adults at the party with
something special to take home for the holidays.

at ASC. |
In conjunction with the New York Chapter of Cable Positive employees
from iN DEMAND marked their company’s 5th Annual Community
Day by volunteering at ASC. Staff from iN DEMAND, the world’s
largest provider of Video-on-Demand (VOD) and Pay-Per-View (PPV)
programming, spent the day helping to coordinate a mailing for
the organization’s upcoming Safer Sex in the City event.
The group participated in and helped to complete the entire process,
from assembling tickets and invitations to affixing stamps and
mailing labels to envelopes. ASC’s Safer Sex in the City
event is scheduled for Thursday, June 16 at the Museum of Sex
and is aimed at educating the wider community about safer sex
and HIV risk reduction.
