Cable Positive's Philadelphia Chapter
Dines Out for Life
The Plough and the Stars, Philadelphia,
PA
March 13th, 2003
Putting their money where their mouth
is, Cable Positive's Philadelphia Chapter
held a meeting at The Plough and the
Stars Restaurant to support ActionAIDS
through Dining
Out for Life, a benefit in which
participating restaurants from various
cities around the country donate a portion
of their dinner proceeds to AIDS organizations
in their area. This year's event was
a huge success with over 180 restaurants
participating and raising nearly $150,000
for people living with HIV and AIDS
in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern
New Jersey and Delaware.
In addition, two Philadelphia Chapter
members participated in TLC's
A Makeover Story! The participants
got haircuts, their makeup done, and
new wardrobes. TLC's cameras were at
the restaurant to get reactions and
to help celebrate the transformation
of the lucky participants.
