Cable Positive's Volunteer Chapters

In 1994, Cable Positive launched their first volunteer chapter in Denver and has since grown to include chapters in New York, Southern California, Philadelphia, Atlanta and Baltimore/Washington D.C. The chapters exist to: :

• Encourage cable and telecommunications industry employees to get involved with HIV/AIDS within the industry
• Involve chapter-area cable industry members in Cable Positive’s mission
• Work with local AIDS service organizations in their community
• Help raise funds to support Cable Positive’s programs

Chapter Summit Leadership Dinner

In 2007 Cable Positive reviewed its guidelines pertaining to local/regional at the request of chapter leadership.
Two practical recommendations for local Cable Positive Presence have emerged:
 
• Expanding chapters statewide
 
• Work with cable systems to identify areas of community-based cable leadership to form the core of a local CP outreach effort.
