When the cable industry returns to New Orleans in May 2008, it is your chance to give back! Join Cable Positive and many others in the industry in helping to make a lasting contribution to the revitalization of a community that is still feeling the aftershocks of the devastation left behind by Hurricane Katrina.
Visit The CableCares home page learn about the many events taking place, including Cable Positive’s
Project Home.
Cable Positive’s Project Home will help the rebuilding efforts of Project Lazarus, and their sister organization, Kent House, two of the nation’s hardest hit AIDS organizations. Cable Positive will lend their hand in assisting the full-time staff in many capacities. These include landscaping, painting, cleaning, cooking, and social interaction with the residents.
Shuttle service will be provided to and from the Morial Convention Center to Project Lazarus/Kent House in two-hour intervals starting at 9 a.m. on both Saturday, May 17, and Sunday, May 18. Please meet outside of Hall D, at the convention center, transportation will be labeled with a Cable Positive sign.
If you are interested in volunteering, or would like more information, please contact Jennifer Medina, Director of Programs at Cable Positive, at 212-459-1504 or jennifer@cablepositive.org.
