Rainbow Media To Sponsor 2007 Pop Awards
NEW YORK, NY — March 21, 2007
NCable Positive, the cable and telecommunications HIV/AIDS action organization, is please to announce the return of Rainbow Media as the event sponsor for The 2007 Positively Outstanding Programming (POP) Awards, and welcomes Television Week as the events media sponsor. The awards show will be hosted by Gloria Reuben, who gained notoriety by portraying an HIV positive woman on the television show E.R. and held at the IFC Center in New York City in early June, 2007.
The POP Awards honor outstanding HIV/AIDS programming. Eligibility includes any HIV/AIDS-related program originally produced and aired in the United States between January 1 and December 31, 2006. The Deadline for submission has been extended to March 23, 2007. Entrants have the choice of a wide variety of judging categories ranging from outstanding biographical program to best Spanish language program. Past winners include Discovery, Logo, BET, and CNN.
Entrants are critiqued by a blue ribbon panel of judges consisting of media writers, critics and HIV/AIDS experts. Subject matter will be judged on the basis of content accuracy, message clarity and program quality. Any media sent to Cable Positive will not be returned.
