CABLE POSITIVE ELECTS NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS LEADERSHIP FOR 2003

Cable Pioneer David Wicks Chosen as Chairman of the Board; Showtime's Ray Gutierrez and Crown Media Holdings Inc.'s Chris Moseley Elected to Board of Directors

NEW YORK, NY - October 1, 2002
Cable Positive's 2003 Board of Directors and Executive Committee took office today following a smooth leadership succession, which saw Cable Pioneer David Wicks succeed NCTA's Rob Stoddard as Chairman of the Board and with Showtime's Senior Vice President for Human Resources Ray Gutierrez and Crown Media Holdings Inc.'s Executive Vice President, Worldwide Marketing and Brand Management Chris Moseley joining the organization's 21-member board. Stoddard, the chairman of Cable Positive's Board for the last two-years passed the baton of leadership to David Wicks, its Board's First Vice Chairman, and the First Cable Pioneer to head Cable Positive's Board.

In addition to Gutierrez and Moseley who begin a two-year term on Cable Positive's Board of Directors, returning Board members include: Daniel L. Brenner, NCTA; Ruth Browne, Arthur Ashe Institute; Jim Coltharp, Comcast Corporation; Mae Douglas, Cox Communications; Bonnie Hathaway, Time Warner Cable; Steve Houck, National Cable Communications; Byron Marchant, BET; Patty McCaskill, Charter Communications; Melissa Montuori, Telemundo Network Group, Inc.; Tonia O'Connor, TV Guide; Scott Perlmutter, Game Show Network; William J. Rosendahl, Adelphia Communications; and Jeffrey A. Bernstein, Founder.

"In our industry, there are few people as qualified or as highly respected as David Wicks. He's a great choice to chair the Cable Positive Board of Directors," said Stoddard. "David has a true passion for fighting the spread of HIV and AIDS, as he's already demonstrated by his commitment to Cable Positive's Grants Committee and Development Committee. David's broad experience in cable will help him identify the best and most effective ways in which the industry can fight this battle to educate our customers, and industry employees, about the disease."

In an election held by Cable Positive Board of Directors during Diversity Week, other newly elected members of Cable Positive's Executive Committee include: First Vice President, Larry Oliver, Reed Television Group; Second Vice President, Meredith Wagner, Lifetime Entertainment Services; Treasurer, Stuart Benson, Sundance Channel; Secretary, Rob Stoddard, NCTA; and Member-at-Large, Dennis Mangers, CCTA.

Veteran Cable Positive Board members Seth Morrision and Corrine Beller, stepped down from their posts. "Both Seth and Corrine devoted many hours of service to Cable Positive over the past eight and six years, respectively," said Steve Villano, Cable Positive President and CEO. "While they are enabling other industry leaders to serve in Cable Positive's Board, both will remain active in Cable Positive, with Seth continuing to serve as chairman of the critically important Tony Cox Community Fund Steering Committee, which makes decisions on $100,000 of grants to AIDS service organizations each year. We are grateful for their continuing commitment to Cable Positive, and to the cause of fighting AIDS."
