CABLE POSITIVE ANNOUNCES NOMINEES FOR
4th ANNUAL POP AWARDS

Cable Positive, the cable and telecommunications industry’s AIDS action organization, has announced the nominees for the 4th Annual Positively Outstanding Programming (POP) Awards. Cable Positive’s POP Awards recognize and honor exceptional original HIV/AIDS-related cable television programming.

Cable Positive will hand out an award for Outstanding Community Partnership. The award will recognize the partnership between a local cable outlet and a community-based AIDS service organization to provide locally focused programming in the fight against AIDS. Nominees in this category are:

In 2002, Cable Positive launched the first POP Awards to honor the important role cable television has in promoting HIV prevention, raising AIDS awareness and reducing stigma and fear surrounding the disease. Cable Positive is dedicated to promoting and highlighting informative and educational HIV/AIDS-related cable television as a means of empowering people in the fight against HIV and AIDS.
