TIME WARNER CABLE of NY & NJ AND CABLE POSITIVE NY CHAPTER TEAM FOR CLEAN YOUR CLOSETS FOR A CAUSE

AIDS Service Center New York City is Beneficiary

NEW YORK, NY - June 1, 2004
Time Warner Cable of NY & NJ and the New York Chapter of Cable Positive, the cable and telecommunications industry’s national non-profit AIDS action organization, recently concluded Clean Your Closets for a Cause, a joint clothing drive that benefited AIDS Service Center New York City, a multi-service community organization that helps individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS. More than 30 cartons of clothing containing more than 600 items were donated to AIDS Service Center through the efforts of Time Warner Cable of and its employees. Collection boxes were set up in 10 Time Warner Cable business locations throughout New York City during the month of May.

“With this remarkable gift from Time Warner Cable, AIDS Service Center of NYC is revamping and expanding our “Wonderful Wearables” Clothing Room – just in time for our move to larger facilities this summer. The timing couldn’t have been better,” said Sharen Duke, Executive Director/CEO, AIDS Service Center. “We will now be able to provide our clients with business attire, casual wear, coats and shoes, children’s clothing, and more – all because of the generosity of Time Warner Cable. This gift means so much to the people we serve.”

“When the AIDS Service Center told us they needed clothing for their clients, we appealed to our employees to clean out their closets,” said Harriet Novet, Time Warner Cable Vice President of Public Affairs. “Not surprisingly, our request was greet ed with open-hearted generosity. We hope ASC recipients will extend the wear of these clothes throughout the seasons.”

“The New York Chapter of Cable Positive is grateful for the generosity of the Time Warner Cable employees,” said Oscar Marin, NY chapter co-chairman. “The leadership of our honorary chair Barry Rosenblum and the staff at Time Warner Cable continues to be invaluable in aiding the development of our chapter. They have provided much needed assistance and resources to AIDS Service Center and their clients.”

The New York Chapter of Cable Positive consists of volunteer members from the cable and telecommunications industry and associated businesses operating in the greater New York region. The AIDS Service Center of New York is the major beneficiary of Cable Positive NY’s fundraising and volunteer efforts. Time Warner Cable is a major benefactor for the NY Chapter as the organization’s Honorary Chair and its first Premier Sponsor.
