CABLE POSITIVE CALLS FOR NOMINATIONS TO RECOGNIZE CABLE INDUSTRY’S MOST COMMITTED COMMUNITY LEADER IN THE FIGHT AGAINST HIV AND AIDS IN 2004

Deadline for 2004 Brad Wojcoski Memorial Award Nominations is Wednesday, August 25, 2004

NEW YORK, NY - July 16, 2004
Cable Positive, the cable and telecommunications industry’s AIDS action organization, is calling for nominations for the 2004 Brad Wojcoski Memorial Award recognizing the cable industry employee whose efforts have made a significant impact in their community in the fight against HIV and AIDS.

To be eligible for the award, nominees must currently be employed by a company in the cable and telecommunications industry. Nominees must have contributed to the fight against AIDS in their community and/or have provided local support or fundraising for Cable Positive's programs and services.

Those interested in submitting a nomination in honor of their colleague or co-worker should visit http://www.cablepositive.org/programs-wojcoski.html, where they can fill out a nomination form online.

As part of the award, Cable Positive makes a donation of $2,500 to the AIDS service organization of the recipient’s choice. The nomination deadline is Wednesday, August 25, 2003. Cable Positive’s 2004 Brad Wojcoski Memorial Award recipient will be announced September 2004.

Cable Positive’s Brad Wojcoski Memorial Award was established in 1993 to honor Brad Wojcoski, one of the original members of Cable Positive’s Board of Directors. Brad, who worked for HBO, died of complications due to AIDS in 1993.

Cable Positive’s 2003 Brad Wojcoski Memorial Award recipient was: Bobby Amirshahi of Cox Communications. Past recipients include: David Gale, MTV Films and Gwen Marcus, Showtime Networks Inc. (2002); Paul Braun, Time Warner Cable National Division (2001/2000); Charlie Moreno, AT&T Services (1999); Ibis Kaba, HBO (1998); Heather Smith, Media One (1997); Chicago Access Corporation (1996); Barbara Siegel, Showtime Networks, Inc. (1995); Dennis Mangers, CCTA (1994); and Viacom Cable San Francisco (1993).
