CABLE IS PREPARED TO DISH AGAIN

Cable Veteran Michele James Brings the Industry to the Table for the Second Edition of Cable Cooks…The Inside Dish to Benefit Cable Positive

NEW YORK, NY - July 18, 2003
Cable Positive, the cable and telecommunications industry’s national non-profit AIDS action organization, announced today that Michele James, President, James & Co. and an honorary chair of Cable Positive, will work with volunteers from the industry and the staff of Cable Positive to produce the second edition of Cable Cooks…The Inside Dish.

Released in 1995, the first edition of Cable Cooks...The Inside Dish sold more than 4,000 copies and raised over $31,000 to support Cable Positive’s programs and services. The second book is set to arrive in May 2004 and will serve up more food, foibles and fodder from cable luminaries with proceeds benefiting Cable Positive’s fight against AIDS.

"The industry’s appetite for this book is huge…I know we will raise a good amount of money for a great organization, Cable Positive," says James. "The first book was a wonderful success on so many levels, and this edition will be even better with more dish than before."

James was inspired to create Cable Cooks as a tribute to her colleague and friend Joel Berger, whom Cable Positive’s prestigious Joel A. Berger Memorial Award is named after. Berger, who died of complications due to AIDS in 1995, was the publisher of Multichannel News and was one of the organization’s original and most fervent supporters serving as a Cable Positive Honorary Chair.
