Proceeds to Benefit the New
York Chapter of Cable Positive -- The
Cable and Telecommunications Industry's AIDS Action Organization
NEW YORK, NY -
August 23, 2006
CMT (Country Music Television, an MTV Network) and Time Warner Cable
of New York and New Jersey hosted a fundraiser at NYC’s famous
Rodeo Bar tonight. Tickets prices were $45 in advance and all
proceeds benefit the New York Chapter of Cable Positive. All guests
are included in a raffle to win a trip to the 2007 CMT Music Awards.
Capitol Records’ hot new country artist, Luke Bryan, performed
songs from his upcoming debut album. Attendees heard the stories
behind the artist and experiences that have influenced his music.
Cable Positive’s mission is to mobilize the talents, resources,
access and influence of the cable and telecommunications industry to
raise HIV/AIDS awareness, support HIV/AIDS education, prevention and
care, and strive to end stigma by creating a more compassionate climate
for people whose lives have been affected by HIV or AIDS.
Howard Szarfarc, President of Time Warner Cable of New York and New
Jersey is the Honorary Chair of the New York Chapter of Cable Positive. Since
January, almost $40,000 has been raised through local fundraising efforts,
