NEW YORK, NY / CHANTILLY, VA - September 13, 2003
Recognizing the need for combining events and conferences, Cable Positive, the cable and telecommunications industry’s AIDS action organization and Women in Cable & Telecommunications (WICT) are joining forces for a spring 2004 cable week, from March 30 through April 2 in New York City. Providing greater efficiency and convenience for the week’s participants, the two organizations will hold all events at The Marriott Marquis, located in New York’s Times Square.
“We are delighted to partner with Cable Positive and WICT’s NY Chapter to create this new, must-attend week of industry events,” said Benita Fitzgerald Mosley, WICT President. “This week will honor some of our industry’s leaders as well as challenge attendees to further develop their own leadership abilities.”
The week will kick off with a breakfast seminar hosted by Horowitz Associates on the morning of Tuesday, March 30, and will be followed by the annual WICT New York Chapter’s Wonder Women luncheon sponsored by Reed Business Information. That evening Cable Positive will present the organization’s highest honor, the Joel A. Berger Memorial Award for outstanding contribution in the fight against AIDS by a cable industry leader at the annual benefit dinner. The Cable Positive 2004 Joel A. Berger Memorial Award honoree will be announced in Fall 2003.
The unique collaborative week between two of the industry’s premiere non-profit organizations, will be punctuated by the 3-day WICT Leadership Forum attracting industry executives and leaders from across the country. Participants serve as the decision makers in a challenging case study on today’s hottest topics, developed by the Daniels School of Business at the University of Denver.
“By working together on this week, Cable Positive and WICT are offering greater value and convenience to our supporters, “ said Steve Villano, President & CEO, Cable Positive. “Cable Positive is pleased to have coordinated this power-packed week with WICT and Horowitz Associates.”
