NEW YORK, NY - September 17, 2004
Cable Cooks 2: The Inside Dish, the second edition of the wildly popular Cable Cooks: The Inside Dish is hot off the press and ready to be devoured. Edited by Cable Positive Honorary Chair Michele James, Prinicpal, James & Co., and Cable Positive’s Vice President, Communications, Marketing and Special Projects, Thomas Dima, the book features a collection of food, foibles and fodder from more than 100 cable television “chefs”. Sales of the book will benefit Cable Positive, the cable and telecommunications industry’s national non-profit AIDS action organization. The cost is $20 per book, and is fully tax deductible.
“Cable Cooks 2: The Inside Dish is a monumental accomplishment and a laugh-out loud experience with useful recipes to boot,” said Steve Villano, Cable Positive, President & CEO. “The book was an incredible team effort which took a year of blood, sweat tears and tamale sauce to make it the hot must-read it is for everyone in cable”.
James was inspired to create Cable Cooks as a tribute to her colleague and friend Joel Berger, whom Cable Positive’s prestigious Joel A. Berger Memorial Award is named after. Berger, who died of complications due to AIDS in 1995, was the publisher of Multichannel News and was one of the organization’s original and most fervent supporters serving as a Cable Positive Honorary Chair.
The first edition of Cable Cooks...The Inside Dish was released in 1995 and sold more than 4,000 copies raising more than $31,000 to support Cable Positive’s fight against HIV and AIDS. The second edition of the wildly popular cookbook, was designed by the Hallmark Channel Design Group under the direction of David Snapp, Senior Vice President, Design Hallmark Channel with Christina Jackson, Senior Designer Hallmark Channel, serving as art director and Matthew Neth of Table 17 as production artist. The production of the book was managed by Betsy Brightman, Regional Vice President, TV Guide Affiliate Sales and Marketing.
