SILENT AUCTION ITEMS SOUGHT TO SUPPORT POSITIVELY CABLE 2005: “CSI: BROADBAND”

Successful sponsorship campaign returns Scripps Networks as presenting sponsor along with 50 other organizations; drive now on for Silent Auction Donations

DENVER, CO - September 21, 2005
Just as in past years, the cable and Denver business communities are demonstrating outstanding support for one of cable’s most hilarious evenings: the Denver Chapter of Cable Positive’s Positively Cable 2005: “CSI Broadband.”

Led by presenting sponsor Scripps Networks, the annual event – slated this year for Nov. 10 at The Cable Center in Denver – aims to top last year’s $144,000 donation to Cable Positive and its mission to raise HIV/AIDS awareness and support HIV/AIDS education, prevention and care.  This will be the eleventh edition of the organization’s annual musical satire of cable industry shenanigans.

Now that this year’s sponsors are in place, donations valued at $100 or more are being sought for the silent auction that is held in connection with the event. This includes an ongoing online auction four weeks prior to the event, and a Silent Auction on the night of the show.

All items need to be received by Oct. 3. For more information or to donate an item, please visit www.positivelycable.com or contact Paul Braun at 303-649-8013.

Donated items in previous years have included, trip giveaways, use of corporate suites at sporting events, autographed books, sporting apparel and equipment, DVD gifts sets and players, as well as other electronic equipment and packages, golf clubs, animation cells, gift certificates from stores like Williams Sonoma, spa packages, tickets to professional sporting events and more. Additionally, since this is an Internet auction, geography is not a barrier. People from all over the country are able to bid on the items such as events, meals, hotel stays, gift cards or even cable service in a specific area. New this year is a “Legends Lunch League,” offering face time over lunch with industry VIPs. A side competition will tital the three highest Lunch League bids to determine the “Most Desireable” lunch date.

This year’s show will solve a couple of hot cases using the dancing and singing talents of many high-profile cable industry detectives, plus the gifted forensic performers of Rave Reviews.

Funds raised support the national efforts of Cable Positive as well as Denver HIV/AIDS support organizations Rainbow House and Mi Casa.  The Volunteers of America Rainbow House provides services designed to meet the unique needs of families living with HIV/AIDS, specifically those with young children. Mi Casa strives to educate Denver-area youth to avoid negative risk behaviors and to improve their outlook for the future.
