A&E, Bravo, Court TV, HBO, Lifetime and Showtime Are Ready for Competition on Sunday, September 19, 2004
NEW YORK, NY - September 9, 2004
Teams from cable networks A&E, Bravo, Court TV, HBO, Lifetime and Showtime will battle it out on the field to crown the softball king of the cable networks for 2004 at Cable Positive’s 12th Annual Softball Tournament on Sunday, September 19, 2004 at Dewitt Clinton Park, West 52nd Street at 10th Avenue, in New York City. All proceeds from the event will benefit Cable Positive, the cable and telecommunications national non-profit AIDS action organization.
“This is a showdown among leading cable networks to determine who really controls Sunday – at least in softball,” said Steve Villano, President & CEO, Cable Positive. “As far as Cable Positive is concerned, these networks are all champions in the fight against HIV/AIDS.”
Last year HBO won their 3rd consecutive Cable Positive Softball Tournament and their 9th in the 11 years of the competition. Cable Positive began the annual softball tournament in 1993. To date, the event has raised nearly $100,000 for Cable Positive’s programs and service to fight HIV/AIDS.
