CABLE POSITIVE TO HONOR CABLEVISION PRESIDENT AND CEO JAMES L. DOLAN

PRIMEDIA's Tom Rogers and VH1/CMT's John Sykes to Serve as Dinner Chairs of Cable Positive's Fifth Annual Benefit Dinner on May 22, 2001

NEW YORK, NY - March 26, 2001
Cable Positive, the cable and communications industry's AIDS action organization, will honor Cablevision Systems Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer James L. Dolan at its Fifth Annual Benefit Dinner on Tuesday, May 22, 2001 at New York's Pier 60 at Chelsea Piers. Dolan, an Honorary Chair of Cable Positive, will receive The Joel A. Berger Award for his outstanding efforts and contributions in the fight against AIDS. PRIMEDIA, Inc. Chairman and CEO Tom Rogers and VH1 and CMT: Country Music Television President John Sykes will serve as Dinner Chairs.

"Jim, a proven leader in the cable and communications industry, has continued to help Cable Positive propel AIDS awareness to the forefront of society's conscience," said Steve Villano, Cable Positive's Executive Director. "Cable Positive is excited to honor him and we look forward to his continued commitment and leadership role in our organization and in the fight against HIV/AIDS."

Through Dolan's leadership, Cablevision has supported many Cable Positive initiatives to communicate HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention to their community as well as their employees. Cablevision makes it mandatory for every employee to attend Cable Positive's AIDS In The Workplace seminars and Cable Positive's Employee Assistance Program is well promoted through employee communications. Cablevision continues to support Cable Positive's national HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns for National HIV Testing Day (June 27) and World AIDS Day (December 1) by telecasting public service announcements and developing partnerships with local AIDS service organizations to produce and air HIV/AIDS-related original programming to its more than 3 million subscribers. Dolan has personally worked with other leading cable CEO's to encourage their development of similar information programs within their organizations.

"Cablevision is a leading corporate citizen in this industry and throughout the United States when it comes to working compassionately and effectively on behalf of people who are HIV positive," said Cable Positive Executive Director Villano. "Some 40 percent of the approximately 5,000 cable industry employees who are trained annually across the country are employees of Cablevision Systems."

Villano added, "Approximately 25 percent of the industry employees who are being helped by the services of Cable Positive's Employee Assistance Fund are Cablevision employees. That speaks volumes for the leadership of a forward-thinking company, which de-stigmatizes the disease and does all it can to educate its workforce and assist its employees affected by HIV. That tone of education and compassion is set from the top, and at Cablevision it starts with Jim Dolan."

Cablevision Systems-through its WIZ stores--recently donated some $20,000 of computer equipment to Cable Positive as the organization moved into new permanent offices at 250 W. 54th Street in Manhattan.

In addition to supporting Cable Positive's programs and services through a liaison with Cable Positive, Cablevision has adopted SUNY Downstate's STAR Clinic HIV Center for Women and Children in Brooklyn, NY, serving a largely African American and Caribbean American community, which is at the epicenter of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in New York and throughout the country.
