Cable Positive Hosts Reception for World AIDS Day Spokesperson
Judd Winick of MTV's The Real World
NEW YORK - September 22, 2000
On September 22, 20000 from 4 - 6 pm Cable Positive, the cable and
communications industry's AIDS action organization, broadcast its
public service announcements and important HIV/AIDS information
from the jumbotron at 43rd and Broadway in Times Square. The broadcast
was part of a World AIDS Day reception and book party celebrating
the release of Pedro and Me: Friendship, Loss and What I Learned
by Judd Winick of MTV's The Real World San Francisco cast, and a
Cable Positive World AIDS Day spokesperson.
Anne Sweeney, president, Disney/ABC Cable Networks and a Cable
Positive Honorary Chair, generously donated the jumbotron to Cable
Positive in an effort to help further the organization's reach to
consumers.
Winick will be featured in a new Cable Positive PSA that will
premiere for World AIDS Day on December 1 focused on youth HIV prevention
and awareness. "Cable Positive is one of those extraordinary organizations
that is built on the good will and hard work of people who care
and are up for the fight," said Winick. "People who want to make
a difference, and CAN."
