CABLE POSITIVE EXTENDS 2000 BRAD WOJCOSKI MEMORIAL AWARD NOMINATION DEADLINE TO DECEMBER 1

NEW YORK, NY - November 14, 2000
Cable Positive, the cable and communications industry's AIDS action organization, announced the extended deadline for the 2000 Brad Wojcoski Memorial Award as Friday, December 1, World AIDS Day. One of two annual Cable Positive awards, the Brad Wojcoski Award recognizes the individual or company that has contributed most significantly to the fight against AIDS in their community.

"The Brad Wojcoski award truly shows dedication and compassion for those individuals and families living with and affected by HIV/AIDS," said Steve Villano, executive director, Cable Positive. "Our goal is to recognize the cable and communications industry employees who volunteer so much of their time to increase HIV and AIDS awareness in their local communities."

The award was established in 1993 to honor Brad Wojcoski, one of the original members of Cable Positive's Board of Directors. Wojcoski, who worked for HBO, died of AIDS in 1993. As part of the award, Cable Positive grants a $2,500 donation to the AIDS organization of the award recipient's choice. In recognition of the number of outstanding local efforts devoted to the fight against AIDS, Cable Positive also awards all finalists with a $500 grant to the AIDS organization of the their choice.

Past recipients of the Brad Wojcoski Award are: Charlie Moreno, AT&T Cable Services, Dallas, TX (1999); Ibis Kaba, HBO, Dallas, TX (1998); Heather Smith, Media One, Natick, MA (1997); Chicago Access Corporation (1996); Barbara Siegel, Showtime Networks, Inc. (1995); Dennis Mangers, California Cable Television Association (1994); Viacom Cable San Francisco (1993). (Company names and affiliation is at the time of the award.)
